FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DOES An INFRARED SAUNA WORK?
A Near, Mid and Far Infrared Sauna emits rays that penetrate the body tissues to different depths, producing a host of health benefits. Infrared heat is effective at a more comfortable operating temperature than traditional saunas (100°-150°F for infrared vs. 200°F for a traditional sauna). A typical InBody infrared sauna session lasts forty minutes.
WHAT IS an INFRARED SAUNA?
An Infrared Sauna is a small room in which light is used to create heat. The Near, Mid and Far, describes where the infrared waves fall on the light spectrum. Infrared light is similar to the natural radiant heat felt from the sun.
IS an INFRARED SAUNA DANGEROUS?
No. Infrared waves are the healthful part of going into the sun. We all need a bit of sun exposure for vitamin D production and other reasons. But when we get too much exposure, the UV damage far outweighs the infrared benefits. In an Infrared Sauna, you can absorb the beneficial light and not be exposed to the UV at all. Infrared heat is completely healthy and safe for all living things. It is important to enter the sauna well hydrated and to drink water during and after your session as needed to replace fluids and prevent dehydration.
ANY REASON WHY I SHOULDN’T DO INFRARED SAUNA?
The following is a list of people who should avoid saunas completely: Stroke in the past (type caused by bleeding in the brain), Severe Aortic Stenosis, Recent Heart Attack, Unstable Angina Pectoris, Brain Tumors,
Using Transdermal Medication, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Silicone Implants. Other medical conditions may need prior physician approval, please speak with an InBody representative if you have any medical conditions.
IS IT UNCOMFORTABLE?
The Sauna is extremely relaxing and comfortable. Imagine yourself outside on a warm sunny day. That is how it feels to be in an Infrared sauna. It is the comforting heat that warms you from the inside.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
InBody Saunas are private rooms, so most people wear nothing at all. Swim related garments are allowed if preferred. Towels are provided by InBody.
SHOULD I SHOWER BEFORE OR AFTER?
Showering prior to arriving for your session is recommended if possible. Shower sheets are provided by InBody for use before and after your sauna session. A cool shower sheet is recommended post sauna to cleanse your skin of the toxins expelled during your session and assist in your cool-down phase.
HOW SOON AFTER SHOULD I EXPECT TO GET RESULTS?
Results may vary by individual and inBody cannot guarantee that any of our clients will see specific results. Clients typically experience an immediate energy boost post session from the purging of toxins coupled with an increase in blood circulation.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NEEDED?
A single session in the sauna is an incredibly relaxing and detoxifying experience. Multiple sessions are recommended, an InBody representative will help facilitate a plan dependent on your condition and desired outcome. InBody offers a wide range of membership packages to meet all requirements.
