FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DOES WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY (WBC) WORK?
WBC safely lowers your skin temperature for a period of up to three minutes. During this process, thermo-receptors in the skin send signals to the brain to release endorphins and beneficial bio-chemicals. The blood also becomes optimally oxygenated which accelerates the beneficial results. When you step out of the cryosauna, your skin temperature returns to normal levels.
WHAT IS A CRYOSAUNA?
A cryosauna is a chamber that is open on the top and equipped with a door and a platform. The sauna uses cryogenically cooled air to rapidly lower your skin’s temperature in less than 60 seconds. During the three-minute session, you will be monitored by a trained InBody operator and instructed to slowly turn while in the cabin.
IS WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY DANGEROUS?
WBC is not dangerous, the liquid nitrogen that is used as a chilling agent does not contact your skin directly. A trained inBody operator is always present during the session to control the temperature level and monitor your comfort.
ANY REASON WHY I SHOULDN’T DO WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY?
Anyone who has unmanaged hypertension or a pacemaker, has a history of or is being treated for cancer, has deep vein thrombosis, has a cold allergy, or is pregnant should not use cryotherapy. If you have questions about whether you have any risk, you should first ask your healthcare provider before deciding to try WBC.
IS IT UNCOMFORTABLE?
Our sessions are limited to three minutes, this gives you the optimal level of exposure to see maximum results but also ensures that you are comfortable with the temperature changes. A WBC session feels like standing naked in front of an open freezer.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Due to the extremely low temperatures that the body is exposed to, our clients must wear foot and hand protection which is provided by InBody, plus either undergarments or a bathing suit to protect intimate body parts. All other clothing is removed, leaving the cooling air to penetrate the skin.
SHOULD I SHOWER BEFORE OR AFTER?
Neither is necessary, our Cryotherapy sessions are completely dry.
HOW SOON AFTER SHOULD I EXPECT TO GET RESULTS?
Results may vary by individual and inBody cannot guarantee that any of our clients will see specific results. However, our clients typically experience an immediate release of endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevator, a lift that can last for several hours. Depending on your physical condition, you may feel immediate relief from joint and muscle pain, improved energy, and increased flexibility that can last for several hours or even days.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NEEDED?
Although most people notice an immediate boost of energy and release of endorphins. Multiple sessions are recommended, an InBody representative will help facilitate a plan dependent on your condition and desired outcome. InBody offers a wide range of membership packages to meet all requirements.
